heavy duty engines, the DD13 , DD15 and DD16 , to the Cummins® ISX15. The engines meet 2010 EPA requirements with Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) emissions technology. And all engine and exhaust systems are designed to improve fuel efficiency. With all that technology, the Coronado is ready to hit the road. And handle it.
Every last Coronado detail is engineered for durability and easy maintenance. Take the hood tilt
for instance: almost 90 full degrees for easy engine access. It takes just 40 pounds of lift effort
to open the hood thanks to a spring-assist mechanism. Once inside, see-through fluid reservoirs
let you check levels at a glance.

In the cab, the Power Distribution Module (PDM) is mounted in
the passenger-side dash for ease of service. A new, longer-lasting single Donaldson® Advanced
Power Core air filter is highly efficient and easy to replace. Reinforced, impact absorbing hood
fenders help prevent damage and “star” cracks.
Freightliner Coronado combined a traditionally-styled long hood with state-of-the-art wind tunnel testing to refine and reduce overall aerodynamic drag when compared to older conventional models. And a new Coronado was born. The enhancements include a lightweight aluminum cab and dual hood-mounted chromed steel air intakes. The Coronado also boasts a lightweight, easy to repair fiberglass hood with chromed steel grille surround and a signature chromed hood handle, a stainless steel sun visor with built-in LED marker lights and, if you choose, a robust 18-inch, Texas square style bumper. Finish it off with an optional accent light package, and you’re ready to roll.
